HT OMEGA eCLARO PCIe Sound Card Review
A specialist internal PCIe sound card combining 24-bit / 192 kHz AKM conversion, 7.1 analog output, headphone support up to 600Ω, swappable op-amp capability and low-profile PC compatibility.
What It Is
The HT OMEGA eCLARO is an internal PCI Express sound card built around a different philosophy from the gaming-heavy Creative and ASUS cards earlier in this series. Its emphasis is traditional PC audio hardware: multichannel analog output, high-resolution conversion, headphone amplification and user-replaceable analog components.
HT OMEGA specifies an AKM AK4396VF 24-bit / 192 kHz DAC and Cirrus Logic CS5361 24-bit / 192 kHz ADC. The card supports 7.1-channel analog output and includes a dedicated headphone connection designed for headphones with impedance ratings up to 600Ω.
The eCLARO also includes a swappable op-amp socket for its front and headphone outputs, anti-pop circuitry and advanced front-panel audio support with selectable automatic muting.

AKM AK4396VF DAC
HT OMEGA uses an AKM AK4396VF digital-to-analog converter capable of 24-bit / 192 kHz operation.
24-bit / 192 kHz
The DAC provides high-resolution playback capability suitable for lossless music, games and multimedia sources.
Dedicated Conversion
The eCLARO uses dedicated audio conversion hardware rather than relying on a motherboard's integrated audio codec.
Audio-Focused Design
HT OMEGA emphasizes the card's analog output hardware rather than surrounding it with extensive gaming lighting or cosmetic features.
CS5361 ADC & Recording
The eCLARO also uses a Cirrus Logic CS5361 analog-to-digital converter capable of 24-bit / 192 kHz operation.
This gives the card dedicated conversion hardware on both sides of the audio path rather than focusing solely on playback.
7.1 Analog Output
HT OMEGA specifies up to 7.1-channel analog output, making the eCLARO useful for traditional multichannel PC speaker systems.
Multichannel PC Audio
Users with analog surround speakers can connect directly to the card without depending entirely on HDMI audio.
Legacy Equipment Support
The analog outputs can be particularly useful with quality speaker systems that remain perfectly functional but predate modern HDMI-based PC audio.
Headphones Up to 600Ω
HT OMEGA's comparison documentation rates the eCLARO's dedicated headphone connection for headphones with impedance ratings up to 600Ω.
Dedicated Output
The card provides a separate high-fidelity headphone output rather than treating headphones as an afterthought.
Broad Impedance Range
Support up to 600Ω gives the eCLARO potential compatibility with a wider range of wired headphones than many entry-level sound cards.
Desktop Listening
This feature makes the eCLARO especially relevant to desktop music listeners using traditional wired headphones.
Swappable Op-Amp
The eCLARO provides a socketed operational amplifier for its front and headphone output path. HT OMEGA lists a JRC 4580 as the standard component.
User Replaceable
Enthusiasts can install compatible replacement op-amps rather than being permanently limited to the factory component.
Audio Experimentation
The socketed design gives technically inclined owners another way to experiment with the analog output stage.
Optical & Coaxial Digital Audio
The eCLARO supports digital S/PDIF output in addition to its analog connections.
Optical Output
Optical connectivity provides a convenient digital connection to compatible receivers, DACs and speaker systems.
Optional Coaxial Output
A 2-pin connector can provide coaxial digital output when used with HT OMEGA's separately available CA-1 cable.
Low-Profile Compatibility
One of the eCLARO's practical advantages is its low-profile PCB design.
Standard Towers
HT OMEGA includes a standard bracket for conventional desktop cases.
Slim PCs
A low-profile bracket is also included, allowing installation in compatible slim desktop systems with an available PCIe slot.
Windows Compatibility
The eCLARO passes the minimum operating-system requirement for this Rockin Box Tech category, but its driver situation requires more explanation than our Creative and ASUS selections.
Windows 10
HT OMEGA provides an official Windows 10 eCLARO driver on its current support site.
Windows 8 / 8.1
Official drivers are also provided for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, satisfying our minimum Windows-generation requirement.
Windows 11
HT OMEGA does not currently list a dedicated Windows 11 eCLARO driver. Rockin Box Tech therefore does not represent Windows 11 as officially supported by the manufacturer.
Current Availability
HT OMEGA continues to maintain official product documentation, drivers and support information for the eCLARO.
However, the manufacturer's own online store currently lists the eCLARO as unavailable. That makes availability an important limitation for anyone considering the card today.
What Owners & Enthusiasts Are Saying
HT OMEGA has historically attracted a smaller but more audio-focused enthusiast community than mainstream Creative or ASUS sound cards. Discussion around HT OMEGA hardware frequently centers on analog sound quality, headphone use and op-amp experimentation rather than gaming effects or RGB features.
Audio-Focused Hardware
Enthusiast interest in HT OMEGA cards has often centered on their dedicated DACs, headphone circuitry and analog component choices.
Op-Amp Enthusiasts
Socketed op-amps have historically attracted users who enjoy experimenting with compatible analog components and tailoring their PC audio system.
Smaller User Base
The eCLARO does not have the same volume of current consumer feedback as mainstream Creative products. That makes broad reliability conclusions less defensible.
Where the eCLARO Still Makes Sense
Windows 10 PCs
The cleanest compatibility case is a Windows 10 desktop using HT OMEGA's official driver.
Wired Headphones
Its dedicated headphone output and up-to-600Ω specification make wired headphone listening one of its strongest use cases.
7.1 Analog Speakers
Users with traditional multichannel analog speaker systems can take advantage of the card's 7.1 output capability.
Audio Enthusiasts
Swappable op-amp hardware provides additional appeal to users interested in experimenting with the analog signal path.
Slim Desktop PCs
The included low-profile bracket makes the card useful in compatible compact PCIe-equipped systems.
Optical Audio Systems
S/PDIF output provides another connection option for compatible external receivers and audio equipment.

The dedicated headphone output and broad impedance rating are well suited to traditional desktop headphone listening.
Analog Audio Systems
Users with existing multichannel analog speakers can take advantage of the card's 7.1-channel output rather than replacing otherwise useful equipment.
Rockin Box Tech Summary
The HT OMEGA eCLARO gives this internal sound-card series a genuinely different manufacturer and design philosophy from Creative and ASUS.
Its AKM AK4396VF DAC, Cirrus Logic CS5361 ADC, 24-bit / 192 kHz capability and CMI8788 chipset are paired with practical features including 7.1 analog output, optical digital audio and a dedicated headphone connection rated for headphones up to 600Ω.
Enthusiasts also receive something uncommon on mainstream budget cards: a swappable op-amp for the front and headphone output path. Combined with the low-profile design and included brackets, the eCLARO remains an interesting piece of dedicated PC audio hardware.
Compatibility is the major qualification. HT OMEGA officially supports Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, so the eCLARO passes the minimum requirement established for this review series. However, HT OMEGA does not currently provide a dedicated Windows 11 driver.
Availability is another concern. The manufacturer continues to maintain product and driver information, but its own store currently shows the eCLARO as unavailable.
For that reason, the eCLARO is best viewed as a specialist option rather than the safest universal recommendation for a brand-new Windows 11 gaming PC. Its strongest case is a compatible Windows system where its headphone output, analog surround connectivity, low-profile design or enthusiast hardware features solve a specific need.
